Just when you think they can't get any stupider ...

Some day, there will be a final, apocalyptic reckoning for people this ignorant:

The current system is not secular by nature, it is anti-religious. These so called public schools offer children one choice, science over god, evolution over creationism.

If Blogging Tory co-founder Stephen Taylor had any pride, I'm sure he'd be embarrassed. No worries there, though, right, Steve?

DUMB AND GETTING DUMBER: Apparently, there's no level of dumbassitude you can attain that opening your mouth can't make even worse:

sfrank85 Says:

Jim, it was Christianity which led to the Enlightment.

That's right, Jim ... how dare you forget that shining example of Christian intellectual development that was the "Enlightment." I'm assuming that was the part between when the Church burned Giordano Bruno at the stake for being a "heretic," and that bit of unpleasantness known as the "Inquisition." Or was it the other way around? I always get those two mixed up.

but Mr. Taylor, isn't "secular" the opposite of "religious"? And wouldn't bringing in the teaching of one religion require the teaching of all religions? Science isn't anti-religion, it is pro-reality, pro-empiricism, pro-observable fact and anti-superstition. Or do you think we should be schooling our youth in the glory of the Koran, the wonders of the Bagavadgita, the tradition of the Torah and the inestimable fabulousness of the Flying Spagetti Monster?

Even the Pope gives props to evolution.

If your faith is so shaky that you cannot bear to entertain the thought that the Bible was written in metaphor, as people in Asia do (and very well done, if you can look at it that way), then your faith is pretty durn tenuous. AND your kids will have real trouble getting trough college.

Apparently, this buffoon wants everyone to be “open minded” to the teaching of complete nonsense at their expense. Wow. That sounds like a winning idea to me!

A lot of grade 12 students can barley write a basic essay. Also, if tax paying parents who can’t afford the cost to send their child to a religious school want to, they should.

Kind of makes his own point, here. Is he a grade 12 student?

In the previous sentence, he made fun of someone else's spelling...

it was Christianity which led to the Enlightment.

And slavery in the southern US led to the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. What's your point?
