And now for a little culture.
One of the things I forgot to mention back here is that I love Bugs Bunny – I can quote dialogue from virtually any clip. And since I also loved watching Saturday morning cartoons as a kid, I think we should start something new here at CC-HQ.
Behold the inaugural edition of “Saturday Morning Bugs Bunny Blogging”. Sweet.

Bravo! Keep that shit coming. The look on Bugs' face when he's rubbing Fudd's head the first time is priceless.
And how many of us were singing along with Bugs' "Welcome to my shop" song? Me. That's who.
That's what my parents (and myself) consider good family entertainment. Enjoyable and innocent enough for the kids to be entertained, without them getting the nuances adults need to enjoy the experience.
I just loved Rossini during his Warner Brothers period...
When you think about it, those cartoons were pretty literate for popular entertainment. This bit from The Ducksters is one of my favourites:
Daffy Duck: I will now play a passage from a famous opera, and you must name the opera.
Porky Pig: But... but I'm weary.
Daffy Duck: Listen carefully!
[plays a single note on piano]
Daffy Duck: And there you have it! Now, what's the opera?
Porky Pig: C-Cavalleria Rusticana?
Daffy Duck: Audience?
Audience: Rigoletto!
Heh.
Little (funny) details.
Notice how you know they're about to get 'cultural' on us when it's 'Directed by Charles M. Jones' instead of Chuck Jones. Also check out the performers on the sandwichboard (e.g. 'Carlo Jonzi' and producer Ed Selzer listed as 'Eduardo Selzeri').
BTW - anyone else ever attend one of those 'Bugs Bunny on Broadway' concerts? The Vancouver Symphony had it on their programme for a number of consecutive years. You get all the classic Loony Tunes funnee on big screen with full live orchestral scores.
