Blogging Tories Short Takes, Mar 31, 2008.

Shorter Gerry Nicholls: "I'd like to take a scholarly and critical look at the Canadian military with respect to its historical treatment and denigration at the hands of Canada's liberals. Let's start with Hollywood."

Shorter Kate McMillan: "When it comes to examining the state of the American economy, I trust the nuanced and thoughtful perspective of Ferris Bueller's teacher."

Shorter JR: "I can't believe that survey didn't have a category for people who hate the environment. Why, the nerve!"

Shorter Frank Hilliard: "I've always had a soft spot for ruthless dictatorships that crush every form of public protest and dissent and ... hey! You darned kids get off my lawn!"

Shorter Ezra Levant: "But enough about me. Let's talk about me."

I see a day of honesty on the part of the Conservatives is simply not going to happen. You can't get past the first paragraphs without halting immediately on the untruths. I'll highlight them here and, in a gesture of goodwill, suggest remediation:

Nicholls: "But more often than not, what they [lefties] really are is anti-military."

...Most Canadians are anti-militarism.

It behooves supporters of the military not to defame Canadians by confusing those issues.

McMillan: "Seven Year American Recession Watch Remains On High Alert."

...The American media has been insanely overexuberant about the economy over the last seven years. It behooves those concerned to acknowledge that irrational exuberance has brought ruin to the American economy.

JR: "Clearly the pollster didn't want to hear from those of us who marked the hour by turning on all our lights."

...I doubt surveying that demographic is something that ever crossed the pollster's mind.

It behooves JR to ascertain the pollster's motivations rather than impugn the pollster's credibility, even when it concerns a unscientific poll such as this.

Hilliard: "China deserves our friendship."

...Nation states never deserve anything and friendship is something between people, not abstract entities.

It behooves Frank Hilliard to stop blogging and spend more time reading.

Levant: "I'll post it. In the meantime, here are my thoughts."

...Levant doesn't express thoughts. He engages in low-cunning and self-serving propaganda.

It behooves Ezra Levant to acquaint himself with the concepts of ethics and morality, before The Law Society of Alberta is forced to do that for him.

"home, home on the homepage

where normally are heard,
the most disparaging words,
but the air won't be turned blue today...!"

CC, I'm impressed, you managed to skim the BTs and not let loose with "teh swearz"
