I wonder if we'll get the Afghan equivalent of Godzilla.

Shorter Five Feet of Kill Them All and Let God Sort Them Out™: Nuking Afghanistan, while totally fun, probably wouldn’t be nearly as advantageous to the West as nuking Japan. After all, everyone knows teh Moozzliiimzzzzzz are too stupid to come up with a better calculator.

yup, nuking those woman and children who get raped and kidnapped will really help them.

No, no, we'll use one of those "only melts the bad people" nukes the Americans have been developing. Like the missile defense shield, it utilizes the power of magical thinking and pixie dust.

So she thinks, I suppose, that the USA nuked Japan and then let them sit for a few years thinking about why they were punished; then the Japanese picked themselves up and just made a better country for themselves. No outside help or intervention required.

The amazing thing isn't that Kathy has no knowledge of history whatsoever. (I take that as a given.) It's that the people who are actually running these campaigns in places like Afghanistan and Iraq have no knowledge of history themselves.

Well, maybe not that amazing. But quite stunning to see.

At this point, I think it's safe to say that Kathy Shaidle doesn't really believe most of what she publishes these days.

It's a shtick -- as her readership continues to dwindle and she becomes less and less relevant, she's forced to get increasingly shrill and offensive to keep an audience. It's simply Ann Coulter, north of the 49th.

It's why she can still have a blog, but is utterly unable to get work anywhere else.

P.S. You paying attention, Patsy? There's a lesson there, if you had the sense to see it.

Well, now she's added Japs to the people she hates. Quelle surprise.

She really missed the boat in her attempt to seize the niche market that propelled taller, leggier, blonder, better-educated harridans to celebrity.

Ah well...once a raging mediocrity, always a raging mediocrity. It's constancy like that that gives our lives meaning. Frankly, I have no idea what I'd do if she started writing things that were original or well-researched or insightful or even less humourless.

I dunno -- it's a tough call. Is she in some weird doublethink mode where she knows what she's saying is patent bullshit, but she says it anyway for the attention? Or is she just so stupid she doesn't realize the implications of what she's saying?

On the other hand, it probably doesn't matter whether it's dishonesty or stupidity. All one can do is shake one's head sadly as she gets into line at the welfare office.

Follow the money. It's always all about the adsense hits, no?
